# Emailit for ChatGPT

> Connect ChatGPT to Emailit with the Emailit plugin to send email, manage domains and contacts, and run campaigns from a chat.

The Emailit plugin for ChatGPT connects ChatGPT to your Emailit account through the [hosted MCP server](/docs/mcp/). It brings all 109 Emailit tools and a set of [skills](/docs/mcp/plugins-and-skills/) that guide ChatGPT through domain setup, deliverability checks, campaigns, webhooks and SDK code. The same plugin works in [Codex](/docs/mcp/codex/).

## Before you begin

- An [Emailit account](https://dash.emailit.com/register).
- A ChatGPT plan that supports plugins. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an admin may need to allow Emailit first.
- A [verified sending domain](/docs/domains/add-a-domain/) before you send email.

## Install the plugin

1. **Find Emailit.** In ChatGPT, open **Plugins** and search for **Emailit**.

2. **Connect.** Choose **Emailit**, then **Connect**.

3. **Sign in to Emailit.** Enter your email and password, and your authenticator code if you use two-factor authentication.

4. **Choose workspaces.** Allow all your workspaces or only the ones you tick, pick where ChatGPT starts, and choose **Allow access**.

To check the connection, ask ChatGPT:

> "Which Emailit workspace am I connected to?"

## Add Emailit before the listing is live

If Emailit doesn't appear in the plugin directory yet, add the server yourself with developer mode:

1. **Turn on developer mode.** Go to **Settings > Security and login** and turn on **Developer mode**.

2. **Add the server.** Open [chatgpt.com/plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), choose **+**, enter `https://api.emailit.com/mcp` as the server URL and save.

3. **Connect.** Choose **Connect** and finish the Emailit sign-in.

## Try it

> "Add the domain mail.example.com to Emailit and show me the DNS records."

> "Send a test email from hello@mail.example.com to me@example.com with the subject 'Hello from ChatGPT'."

> "Show me the emails that bounced this week and why."

> "Create an audience called Beta testers and add jane@example.com to it."

ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it sends email, deletes data or changes anything that can't be undone.

## Access and workspaces

ChatGPT asks for full access by default. If you approved less, ChatGPT shows the Emailit approval screen again when it needs a tool that requires full access (step-up authorization).

One connection covers every workspace you allowed. Name the workspace in your request, for example "In Acme Client, list the domains", and ChatGPT runs that request there without changing its default. Ask "Switch to my Marketing workspace" to change the default.

ChatGPT works with your role in each workspace. In workspaces where you're a Member, it can't manage API keys or delete domains. To change which workspaces ChatGPT can use, open **Account → Connected apps** and choose **Edit access**. See [Workspaces and permissions](/docs/mcp/workspaces-and-permissions/).

## Disconnect

Open **Account → Connected apps** and choose **Revoke access** next to ChatGPT. ChatGPT loses access immediately. Removing the plugin from **Plugins** in ChatGPT only removes it on ChatGPT's side.

## Troubleshooting

**ChatGPT says it can't reach Emailit.** Open **Plugins**, select Emailit and choose **Connect** again to sign in.

**An email is rejected.** The sender must use a verified domain. Ask ChatGPT to check the domain and verify it.

More fixes are in [MCP troubleshooting](/docs/mcp/troubleshooting/), and every tool is listed in the [tool reference](/docs/mcp/tools/).
