# MCP & AI

> A hosted MCP server with OAuth 2.1 gives ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex, Grok and other AI agents the whole Emailit API, in the workspaces you choose.

Your email, fluent in AI. Emailit’s hosted MCP server gives ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex and Grok the whole Emailit API: send email, debug deliveries, set up domains and run campaigns, in the workspaces you choose.

## At a glance

- **109** tools covering the whole API
- **OAuth 2.1** with PKCE, per-workspace access and one-click revoke
- **Hosted** at api.emailit.com/mcp, nothing to run
- **Plugins** for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex and Grok

## Ask, and it’s done

“Why did the receipt to anna@northwind.io bounce?” Your assistant finds the email, reads the SMTP response and checks the suppression list, all through MCP tools.

- Send, schedule, retry and forward email
- Inspect deliveries, events and suppressions
- Manage domains, templates, contacts and campaigns

## Scoped tools, not a raw API key

Agents can only call what their access allows. Sending-only access is limited to the email sending tools, so experiments never touch your settings, and destructive tools are marked so your assistant can ask first.

- 15 toolsets, from emails and domains to automations and forms
- Load only the toolsets you need, or turn on read-only mode
- Workspace roles apply: Members can’t manage API keys

## Connect in one step

Connect from ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex or Grok, or add the server URL to any MCP client. Choose your workspaces in the browser, and change or revoke access under Connected apps any time.

- Works with any MCP client over Streamable HTTP
- All your workspaces, or only the ones you pick
- API key fallback for headless agents

## Features

- **OAuth 2.1 + PKCE**: Standards-based sign-in for every client.

- **Plugins and skills**: Emailit know-how for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Grok.
- **Toolsets and read-only mode**: Give each agent only the tools it needs.
- **Open-source package**: @emailit/emailit-mcp for local stdio use.
- **Emily, AI assistant** (planned): An assistant inside the dashboard for every team.

## FAQ

### What is an MCP server?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call tools in other products. Emailit’s MCP server exposes the whole Emailit API as tools that assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor can use on your behalf.

### Which AI tools work with Emailit?

ChatGPT, Claude (including Claude Code), Cursor, Codex, Grok, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed and any other client that supports remote MCP servers. Clients without remote server support can use the open-source local server.

### Is it safe to give an AI agent access to my email?

You approve access in your browser, choose which workspaces the agent can use and can revoke it any time under Account › Connected apps. Sending-only access limits an agent to sending email, without access to settings, domains or contacts, and read-only mode hides every tool that changes data.
