# SMTP Relay

> Use smtp.emailit.com with WordPress, Laravel, Supabase, Ghost or any app. TLS on ports 25, 465, 587, 2525 and 2587, AUTH PLAIN and LOGIN, logs and webhooks included.

An SMTP relay that just works. Point WordPress, Laravel, your CRM or a fifteen-year-old legacy app at smtp.emailit.com and get the same deliverability, logs and webhooks as the API.

## At a glance

- **5** ports: 25, 465, 587, 2525 and 2587
- **TLS** STARTTLS or implicit TLS on every connection
- **40 MB** maximum message size
- **250 OK** returns the Emailit ID of every message

## Standard SMTP, modern internals

AUTH PLAIN and LOGIN over STARTTLS or implicit TLS. Every accepted message gets an Emailit ID in the 250 response, so you can find it in the logs instantly.

- RFC-compliant, no proprietary headers required
- Queued messages appear in logs within milliseconds
- Same spam scoring and suppressions as the API

## Credentials in seconds

The username is always emailit and the password is an API key. Create a send-only key locked to one domain for apps you do not fully trust.

- One key per app makes rotation painless
- Send-only scope blocks every non-sending action
- Revoke a key and its SMTP sessions stop immediately

## Works with everything that speaks SMTP

WordPress with FluentSMTP or WP Mail SMTP, Laravel, Django, Rails, Supabase Auth, Ghost, Strapi, Nextcloud, printers and monitoring tools.

- Ports 2525 and 2587 for networks that block 25 and 587
- Works behind corporate firewalls and cloud providers
- Guides for popular frameworks in the docs

## Features

- **Full logs**: Every SMTP message gets the same delivery timeline as API email.
- **Webhooks included**: Delivery, bounce, open and click events fire for SMTP mail too.
- **Session logs**: See each SMTP session and its result in request logs.
- **Rate limiting**: Per-second and daily limits protect your reputation from runaway scripts.
- **Spam scoring**: Messages are scored before delivery. Risky mail is held for review.
- **Automatic suppressions**: Known bounces and complaints are skipped automatically.
- **Tracking on your domain**: Opens and clicks go through your own tracking subdomain.
- **TLS everywhere**: Encrypted transport on every port, every time.

## FAQ

### What are the Emailit SMTP settings?

Host smtp.emailit.com, username emailit, password: an API key. Use port 587 or 2587 with STARTTLS, port 465 with implicit TLS, or ports 25 and 2525 with STARTTLS.

### My hosting provider blocks port 587. What can I do?

Use port 2525 or 2587. They behave exactly like 25 and 587 and are rarely blocked by cloud providers or corporate firewalls.

### Does SMTP cost the same as the API?

Yes. One email sent through SMTP costs one credit, the same as the API, on every plan.

### Can I use Emailit SMTP with WordPress?

Yes. Install FluentSMTP or WP Mail SMTP, choose “Other SMTP”, and enter the settings above. Thousands of WordPress sites send through Emailit today.
