How do I delete my account or workspace?

Account and workspace deletion aren't self-service in Emailit. Learn what to switch off yourself and how to ask support to delete your data.

Updated Oct 1, 2026

The dashboard has no button to delete your user account or a workspace. Support handles deletion requests. This article explains what you can do yourself first and how to request deletion.

Symptoms

  • You can’t find a delete option in Account or in WorkspaceSettings.
  • You want to stop using Emailit, close a test workspace or have your personal data removed.
  • You want to leave a workspace that someone else owns.

Cause

Deleting an account or workspace removes domains, keys, contacts and message history, and it affects billing, so Emailit handles it through support rather than a self-service button.

A few related rules:

  • You can’t leave a workspace yourself. An admin has to remove you from Members.
  • The workspace owner can’t be removed. The owner is the person who created the workspace.
  • Subscriptions keep running until you cancel them. Cancel paid plans before you ask for deletion.

Fix

  1. Stop billing. In WorkspaceBilling, switch a Pro or Business workspace back to Pay as you go, which cancels the subscription. Turn off Auto-refill. Repeat for every workspace you own. See Plans.

  2. Stop sending. Delete your API keys in Email APIAPI Keys, and update any app or SMTP plugin that still uses them.

  3. Remove what you don’t want kept. Delete domains, webhooks, contacts, audiences and suppressions. Deleting domains needs the admin role. Message data is deleted automatically when your data retention period ends.

  4. Leave someone else’s workspace. Ask an admin of that workspace to open Members in WorkspaceSettings and select Remove on your row.

  5. Request deletion. Contact support from the email address on your account. Say which workspaces you want deleted, by name, or that you want your whole user account removed.

For how long Emailit keeps data, see Data retention. For roles and ownership, see Members and roles.
